Resumen

This paper presents a performance evaluation of a selected group of current sensors available in the market. The sensors were tested from 60 mA to 2 A current values in a 9-W, 60-kHz, multiport boost converter from a Battery Management System which is controlled by a 32-bits microcontroller. The evaluation reported in this work presents the current waveforms obtained from a current probe and compared against the output signal of each sensor under study. Advantages and features of each sensor are detailed as well as their prices. Finally, two sensors with outstanding performance are implemented in a closed-loop control scheme in a single boost converter offering a good insight of the quality-price balance.
