Resumen

This paper presents the implementation of a PCM control scheme in a multiport Boost converter for BMS applications. The 15-W converter is intended to properly monitor the SoC of two lithium-ion cells with a nominal voltage of 3.7 V and 2000 mAh. The inner current control and the outer voltage control are implemented in a low-cost 32-bit 200 MHz microcontroller using mixed-signal strategies for both converters, which are phase shifted 180° using a Peak Current Control scheme at 60 kHz. The system is experimentally verified by measuring the total discharge of a battery operating in a closed-loop fashion and the results are validated and compared with the measurements of a professional data logger.
